Haweya Ismail (Perth, Australia)

"I am most proud of always holding on to my personal values and authenticity." - Haweya Ismail ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Today we are featuring entrepreneur Haweya Ismail who founded MUD & MUSK, an e-commerce platform for DIY skincare. Haweya completed her BSc in Environmental Science at the University of Western Australia and her passion for sustainability is clear in her business practices. MUD & MUSK offers a pre-measured selection of organic, ethically-sourced ingredients. Impressive right? Say masha'Allah!

We asked Haweya how she deals with setbacks and this is what she told us: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ "You learn quickly in the business world that setbacks and failures are an inevitable part of the process. It is definitely how you deal with obstacles that can determine future success. My mindset was something I had to change to better deal with setbacks. I learnt to see each failure as an opportunity to learn, grow and build resilience. Since my greatest personal and business growth has come following setbacks, the thought of failure does not give me the same anxiety it once had - and that has been really liberating." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What a great way to approach setbacks! Keep up the wonderful work Hawyea. We are fortunate to have role models like you leading the way.
