He earned a Master of Environmental Science and Technology at RMIT University. . When asked what led him to this career path, Hamsa had this to say: .

“Before starting postgraduate study, I knew I wanted to commit my life towards developing solutions and leaving a positive impact. This led to me wanting to increase my knowledge regarding the global issues we face, and in specific the Climate Crisis. As a global community we face shifting weather patterns that threaten food production, rising sea levels, more intense heat waves, extreme natural disasters, and escalating global conditions that will negatively impact billions of lives. The UN highlights Climate Change as the defining issue of our time. I saw this as an opportunity to dedicate my energy and efforts towards advocating and organising for action that can hopefully benefit the lives of many.”
